Common questions

The file came out bigger than I asked for. It shouldn't — Squish measures the finished file and re-encodes until it fits. If you see this, please send the video's length and resolution and the size you asked for.

My video lost its sound. Some recordings carry audio Squish can't decode. It exports the video rather than failing outright, and tells you when it does. Send us the details and we'll add support for that format.

Importing a large video takes a while. Getting a 4K clip out of the photo library is the slow part, before Squish starts. The progress bar shows how far along it is.

I paid but the unlock isn't showing. Open the unlock screen and tap Restore purchase. Purchases are tied to your Apple Account, so a reinstall or a new device just needs a restore.

Which format should I pick? H.264 plays everywhere, including Windows, Android and older browsers. HEVC makes smaller files but needs a reasonably recent device to play. When in doubt, leave HEVC off.
